Drawing on research from Opportunity Insights, the findings show that the Richmond region ranks near the bottom nationally for both current mobility and progress over time, with outcomes worsening for many families across generations. At the same time, examples like Charlotte demonstrate that meaningful improvement is possible through sustained regional alignment.
